We were in a store and there was this huge stuffed yellow lab. Friendly looking. Pretty cute. Much, much bigger than Young Man. The store had a collar and leash on the stuffed pooch and Young Man walked (read: dragged) the dog around the store. It seemed like he was really enjoying the dog. We left the store, without the dog at this point, and we went to grab dinner and do some grocery shopping. We went back to the store. Young Man went straight to the dog.
He seemed pretty engaged with his dog fun. I crouched down to have a little discussion. "Do you really want this? Are you going to be bored with it in 2 hours after we get it home? No? Okay, you really want Mommy to buy this? Are you sure? Yes?" I could see the "yes Mom please" gleam in his eyes. It wasn't just words coming out of his mouth.
