Finished Objects

FOs ScarvesYes, that's plural. You know what's weird? My first knitting project was a garter stitch scarf. It took me 1 month to complete that. Each of these two scarves took me 2 days of intermittent knitting.

Scarf #1: My So Called Scarf
Threaded Bliss recently got in a shipment of Malabrigo. Malabrigo is much softer than the Manos I have in my stash. And way cheaper per yard. My friend Jen recently completed a scarf using her Malabrigo. I got caught up in the frenzy of it all and had to get started. I used the same pattern as Jen.

I find it interesting that the pattern makes no sense until you start knitting it.

Pattern: My So Called Scarf
Yarn: Malabrigo in Dusty
Needles: Fiddlesticks Size 11 Straights

Scarf #2: Determination
I bought some Plymouth Tweed from kpixie back in the beginning of July. At the time, I thought, this is going to make a great fall scarf. Fast forward to the weekend before Halloween. I realized that my yarn had been pretty much untouched since it arrived from kpixie. I whipped out my newly acquired Barbara Walker's Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns and picked a stitch pattern. I think it's called Twin Rib and worked it up in 2 days. If you truly interested, let me know and I will look it up and tell you what page.

Plymouth Tweed is a great value. I LOVE the flecks of pink, yellow and black. It's a bit coarse, as in, not Lorna's Laces Shepherd Worsted soft. However, my sensitive neck is not bothered at all.

Pattern: My Own
Yarn: Plymouth Tweed in Color 5327 (Tweedy Orange)
Needles: Addi Natura Size 8

Lovely! I love it!

Ok, in the background is that another scarf, or some kind of basket? I guess Dusty has to be purple and Tweedy Orange is sort of obvious, but I feel like i'm missing something!

Dusty is pinkish-purplish (= mauve?)

That is a Lantern Moon Palm Leaf Tote in the background.
